Wednesday April 4th was a busy day for fire personnel from Eastern Berks Fire and we responded to six incidents, five within three hours on this windy April afternoon.
EBFD was sent at 14:58 hours for a tree down on wires blocking Old Rt 100 between Sycamore and Forgedale Roads in Washington. Met-Ed notified, barricades placed and company made available.
At 1543 hours, we responded to a tree down on wires blocking Hill Church Road in Washington. The wires were across a home at that location as well. Township crews placed barriers and Met-Ed notified.
At 1553 hours, while on location at Hill Church Rd, EBFD, Bally Medics, and Fire Police from 97 and 95 were dispatched for the report of an MVA on Rt 100 in Washington.
At 1605 hours, while still on scene at the MVA, fire police from 97, 19 and 95 were sent for traffic control around a down tree on Water Street in Earl.
Then at 1736 hours, we were sent for live wires down and sparking on Old Rt 100 near Sugar Maple Rd in Washington.
Finally at 2128 hours, Fire Police from 97, 39, and 58 were sent to Huffs Church and Benfield Roads for traffic control at an MVA.
