On Saturday May 23, Eastern Berks Fire said goodbye to an old workhorse - Engine 97-2. This 20 year old pumper served Eastern Berks and the Bally legacy company since 1995, responding to hundreds of alarms night and day and in all kinds of weather. With a new pumper being ordered, it was time to sell this truck and pass it on to another department for their use. The Community Volunteer Fire Department of Mahaffy, from western Pennsylvania, chose the unit to supplement its fleet. We wish them well and hope it serves them as well as it served us. Watch as the truck leaves Eastern Berks Territory for the final time.
