Garage Fire – District Township

9:11pm on Thursday August 14: 39, 97, 21, Lehigh 1 and 505 were dispatched for the report of a fire on Treichler Road in District Township. Chief 39 arrived to find a fully involved detached garage, with the nearby home as an exposure.Chief 39 requested the second alarm be struck adding additional units from 97, 58, 95, Montg 65, Lehigh 66. Added later were 19 to cover and 575 after 505 transported a firefighter. Engine 39 laid five inch supply line up the long drive and crews from incoming apparatus attacked the fire, and protected the exposure, whose siding had already melted. Tankers supplied Engine 21, which fed the five inch. After a quick knock down on the initial fire volume, second alarm companies were either recalled or redirected as cover companies. On scene until after midnight.
