Busy Easter Sunday and Monday for EBFD

 April 4, 2021

Easter Sunday and Monday 2021, April 4th & 5th, turned out to be busy days for the personnel of Eastern Berks Fire.

On Sunday April 4 at 1022 hours, we received an alert from Montgomery County to respond with a tanker to assist East Greenville for a structure fire on Gravel Pike in Upper Hanover. East Greenville and Pennsburg from Montco, along with Hereford and EBFD were on the assignment for a heater fire inside a commercial building.

At 1449, EBFD and Boyertown Medics were sent for an ALS Medical in Spring Valley Village in Washington

At 1456, Tanker 97 was added as part of the Second Alarm for a large working brush fire on Kutz Rd in Alsace, which including vehicles as well.

At 1617, EBFD and Bally Medics were sent for an ATV accident with injuries at Passmore and Wilt Rd in Washington. Gilbertsville Medics were added for a second patient. Crews assisted with patient care, debris cleanup, and traffic control.

On Monday April 5th EBFD and Seisholtsville Fire were dispatched to the 100 block of Treichler Road in District for a brush fire. Chief 97 arrived and confirmed a working fire. Both companies worked about 1 hour to contain and extinguish the fire. 97 units on scene Brush 97, 97-1 & 97-2, Tankers 97 & 97-1, Engine 97-1, and Attack 97.

While wrapping up from the brush fire, EBFD and EMS sent for an ALS Medical on Main St in Bechtelsville.

Finally, in the evening,  EBFD was sent for an AFA on Limekiln Rd in Bechtelsville.

Monday 8/8/22 @2240 hrs 97 RIT, was dispatched with Co's 95, Montco 67 and Montco 332 for a Dwelling fire in 95's First due on Elaine Dr, Colebrookdale Twp.

Chief 95 arrived and confirmed a working fire, 97 personnel set up RIT, threw ground ladders, sent 2 to the roof via the main of Ladder 95 to open the roof, assisted with fire attack and overhaul/ventilation.

Crews made quick work of the fire, Co's 19 and Montco 37 were also dispatched with manpower due to the heat and humidity.

97 Units on Scene: Engine 97, Rescue 97, Attack 97, Tanker 97 and Tanker 97-1.
