Eastern Berks, Boyertown, and Pennsburg Fire Departments along with Bally Medics were dispatched at 7:00pm on Wednesday May 13, for the report of a car on fire inside an attached garage on Audrey Drive in Washington Township, Berks County.
Eastern Berks Fire Chief Mike Mutter reported smoke showing from a mile away, and reported a house with heavy fire in the half of the house with the attached garage when he arrived moments later.
A second alarm brought units from Hereford, Earl, Gilbertsville and New Hanover, as well as the Boyertown Salvation Army Canteen.
An aggressive attack by first in firefighters, kept most of the fire damage to the garage side of the home, but the house was heavily damaged by fire and smoke, and is uninhabitable.
There were no injuries to resident, a pet dog, or firefighters.
Thank you to all our mutual aid departments!
EBFD Units on scene included: Engines 97 and 97-1, Tankers 97 and 97-1, Attack 97, Brush 97 and 97-1, Utility 97
