Eastern Berks and mutual aid were dispatched to two simultaneous brush fires in our fire due territory on Tuesday April 6th.
At 1340 hours, Eastern Berks and Bally Medics were sent to the unit block of Lenape Rd in Washington for the report of fire along the tree line. Chief 97 arrived and reported a working fire. Handled by Brush 97-1 and Tanker 97-1, who then relocated to Groff Rd fire.
At 1341 hours, Eastern Berks, Bally Medics and additional apparatus from Earl and Seisholtsville were sent to the unit block of Groff Rd in District for the report of a half acre on fire. Deputy 97 took the lead on this assignment and reported multiple acres with fire extending in tree lines on all sides of the fire, some close to a home. Additional units were added from Boyertown and Hereford. EBFD units on scene included Brush 97, 97-1, and 97-2, Engine 97-1, Attack 97, Tankers 97 & 97-1, Utility 97 and Traffic 97. In service for 90 minutes.
