Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
not a person had planned if fire breaks out.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, but a spark flew out
and set them aflare.
The family was nestled all snug in their beds, if they had only listened to
what Stymie had said at fire prevention this year.
The Christmas tree lights were on all day and all night, the tree was very dry, but it still looked so bright.
Check the lights on the tree for frayed wiring, not me,
I used them last year and they were just fine.
One plug right into another, how was I to know the
outlet could not take just one more.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I went to the window to see what was the matter.
When what to my wandering eyes should appear, but Car97 already here!
and then what to my surprise was an Eastern Berks FireFighter, that look like Cornelius? decked out in bunker gear!

close and so near?
A smoke detector I should have installed to make it a
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for one and for all.
The Eastern Berks Fire Dept. wish one and all a fire safe holiday and hope everyone practices fire prevention in the New Year.
And Merry Xmas to!!
Happy Holidays from
Chief 97 & everyone at EBFD
