Friday December 23rd – Winter Storm “Elliot” moved through the region bringing with it rain, snow, plunging temperatures and strong winds.
That also meant Eastern Berks Fire was sent on multiple calls by the county communications center, in addition to other incidents handled directly by the department.
Among the incidents were:
- Tree down blocking Rt 100 at Mill in Washington
- Pole and wires down on S 7th St in Bally
- Assist to Lyons Fire on a structure fire on Schweitz Rd in Rockland
- Wires down Old Rt 100 and Forgedale in Washington
- Tree down on Lenape Rd in Washington
- Pole Fire on Bull Rd in District
- Fire police to assist Boyertown at Township Line and N Reading in Colebrookdale
- Assist to Seisholtsville Fire on Hunter Forge Rd in Hereford for tree and wires on house, appliances smoking inside.
- Tree on fire with wires involved on Blackberry Rd in Pike
- Other incidents in our coverage area: Deer Run Rd; Weinsteiger Rd; Groff Rd; Crow Hill Rd; Hill Church Rd; Race & Lane Rds.
